Minischool

As for the previous GDR Multielectrode meeting editions, a mini-school dedicated to multi-electrode systems is organized before the conference. It will take place on January 5th afternoon and January 6th morning in GrenobleAnybody interested is invited to apply but the priority will be given to students, post-docs and young researchers.

Tuesday, January 5th, 2016

(Location: Clinatec)

2:00 - 6:00 pm

The afternoon will be dedicated to different lectures on the following topics:

  • Fundamentals of extracellular neural recording and stimulation
  • Fundamentals of electrochemistry of microelectrodes
  • Methods for the analysis of neural signals (spikes and LFPs)
  • Methods for the analysis of spike trains
  • Methods for neural signal decoding

Evening

Minischool dinner in Grenoble (included with registration)

Important: The accomodation for the night January 5-6 is not included in the registration fee, so you have to book a hotel in Grenoble on your own.

Wednesday, January 6th, 2016

The morning session will be dedicated to improving your skills with respect to these different topics. Different hands-on sessions are available and you can choose among:

  • Spike sorting and LFP analysis (Phelma, room M255)
  • Spike train analysis (basics of Matlab-like language required) (Phelma, room M161)
  • Neural signal decoding (basics of Matlab-like language required) (Phelma, room M161)
  • In vitro MEA recording and electrode characterization (Clinatec)
